What should a dietitian resume include?
Hospitals, wellness brands and clinics in India hire dietitians on a nutrition degree, a completed clinical internship and, ideally, the Registered Dietitian credential from the Indian Dietetic Association. Recruiters then look for the patient groups you counsel, such as diabetes, renal or paediatric cases, and your ability to plan therapeutic diets. Specific caseloads and measured patient progress stand out.
Skills recruiters look for:
- Nutrition assessment
- Therapeutic diet planning
- Enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Malnutrition screening
- Diet counselling
From our sample resumes:
- Gurpreet’s bullets name potassium, phosphorus and fluid planning for a monthly dialysis caseload, which proves genuine renal specialisation instead of general diet advice.
- Nazia states honestly that she is preparing for the RD exam, a detail recruiters respect more than vague wording that hides a missing credential.
