About the Mandate design
Mandate dresses a political science teacher’s CV as a sitting of parliament. A deep constitutional navy frames the hero, the body sits on warm parchment, and accents come from Ashoka blue, saffron, green and maroon. Libre Caslon Text gives headings a printed-gazette feel, with Karla for reading and IBM Plex Mono for labels. A spinning chakra and floating preamble lines animate the top, followed by an order-of-business agenda, a skills manifesto, parliamentary-procedure method, terms in office, the gazette and a coalition brief.
Design highlights
- A ballot-style hero with a slowly spinning chakra motif and floating lines from the preamble.
- An order-of-business agenda lists what a visitor will find, like a day’s sitting in the house.
- Experience appears as terms in office, so long tenures read as repeated re-election.
- Contact is titled “Table a motion”, keeping the civic theme right to the last section.
