How to use your headline
Pick the headline that sounds most like you, then adjust a word or two so it matches the job you are applying for. Put it directly under your name on your resume, paste it into the headline field of your job-portal profile and use the same line at the top of your personal website so every place you appear tells one consistent story.
What makes a strong resume headline
- Role first. Recruiters search by job title, so start with the title you want to be found for.
- Level and scope. “5+ years” or “team lead” tells a reader instantly where you fit.
- Two or three real skills. Name tools or specialisms that appear in the job description — not soft skills everyone claims.
- Proof, if you have it. A measurable result makes a headline memorable. Only use numbers you can back up in an interview.
