A CV for the UAE usually has a photo, runs to 2–3 pages and is printed on A4 paper. The 11 designs below suit nurses and open in the free builder with our sample nurse CV filled in, and the checklist further down shows what to change before you apply in the UAE.
A UAE CV is usually two pages, written in British English and sent as a PDF. Unlike in the UK or US, most employers here expect a few personal details near the top: nationality, current visa status, current location and often a professional photo. Recruiters also look for your notice period and whether you hold a UAE driving licence, because these decide how quickly and easily you can start.
Each design below opens in the free builder with our sample nurse resume, Merin Joseph, Senior Staff Nurse (Medical ICU), already filled in. The list further down takes that sample section by section and shows what to change before you send it to an employer in the UAE.
Why the sample works: Both resumes place the nursing council registration in certifications, so a recruiter can verify eligibility without hunting through the page or asking for another document. Merin’s ICU bullets name bed strength, patients per shift and the equipment she handles, which tells a nursing superintendent exactly what unit she can walk into.
An Indian nurse applying in the UAE needs a CV that proves licence eligibility before anything else. Recruiters for Gulf hospitals quickly check your degree type, registration with your state nursing council, recent clinical experience and progress with the health authority exam. Put your licensing status in the header, describe each ward in terms of beds, acuity and specialty, and drop Indian conventions such as a declaration, parents’ names and a full list of school marks.
Common and often expected: a plain, professional head-and-shoulders photo. Every design below has a photo slot, which you can switch off.

The sample nurse CV, adapted for the UAE
Header
Keep Merin Joseph and “Senior Staff Nurse (Medical ICU)” at the top with a small photo, then add a personal line UAE recruiters look for: nationality, visa status, the emirate you live in and your notice period. Write the phone number with its country code and never add a passport or Emirates ID number.
Professional summary
“Critical care nurse with six years in medical and cardiac ICUs, trained in ventilator management, central line care and inotrope titration. Regularly takes charge of a shift, precepts new graduates and supports NABH documentation audits.” Keep it formal and factual in British English; specific numbers stand out because overstated claims are common in the market.
Core skills
Ventilator care, Central line care, ABG sampling, Inotrope titration, ECG interpretation, ACLS, NABH documentation, Shift leadership.
Work experience
Senior Staff Nurse, Medical ICU, 450-bed multi-speciality hospital: “Manage two ventilated patients per shift in a 24-bed medical ICU, including sedation scoring, suctioning and weaning trials. Lead the night shift as charge nurse twice a week, allocating beds and coordinating admissions from emergency.” Earlier: Staff Nurse, Cardiac Care Unit, 200-bed cardiac speciality hospital. Add one line of context under each employer a Dubai or Abu Dhabi recruiter may not know (sector, size or region covered), then three to six bullets with an outcome where you have one.
Education and qualifications
B.Sc Nursing, private college of nursing affiliated to a health sciences university. Give degree, subject, institution, country and year. If your degree certificate is already attested, a short “degree attested” note helps.
Certifications and training
Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife, Karnataka State Nursing Council; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Certificate course in critical care nursing.
Languages and additional information
List English, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi with a realistic level for each, plus a UAE driving licence if you hold one and your earliest start date.
