Admissions to timetables, compliance to campus — the machinery that keeps a school calm.
A great school is a calm one, and calm is manufactured — behind the scenes, before anyone arrives. My job is to absorb the chaos so it never reaches the classroom: the double-booked hall, the late bus, the pending compliance, the anxious parent at the desk. Teachers should think about teaching and children about learning; everything else is mine to hold. Done right, administration is invisible — and that invisibility is the whole craft.
Led a campus of about fourteen hundred students, sixty-five teachers and twenty-five support staff from kindergarten to class XII.
Turned around falling admissions by publishing a clear academic plan, holding open classroom days and meeting parents every term.
Managed examinations, timetables and co-curricular calendars for classes V to X. Set up a student council and house system that took over assembly and sports-day planning.
